Check guests in with Velvet Pro

Choose an event, find each guest and complete their ticket and ID checks in Velvet Pro. Review door activity and setup on the organizer site.

Open the door

  1. In Velvet Pro, log in, then choose your venue.
  2. Tap Door, then Choose an event. Only published events are listed.

Check a guest in

  1. In Velvet Pro, choose Scan, then QR & ID to read the guest’s live Scan to check in code or the barcode on the back of a U.S. driver’s license or state ID. Choose Passport for a passport, or Mobile ID when that option is available.
  2. Compare the guest with the ID photo on screen. Use the Photo matches control only when they match. Choose Doesn’t match or Check ID instead when another check is needed.
  3. When an ID check is requested, use the ID scanner offered for that guest, review the result and complete the confirmation shown. Reading or closing an ID scan does not approve it. At 18+ and 21+ events, an unverified guest being approved manually needs an ID scan.
  4. When Who’s coming in now? appears, choose the tickets for the people arriving. Choose Only guests are arriving if the buyer is not entering. Check each additional guest’s ID using the offered steps.
  5. To find someone by name, open Guest list from the top of Door and search. Finding a record does not admit the guest: complete the ticket and ID checks shown.

Read a band on iPhone or Android

  1. On iPhone, tap the band reader on Door, labeled Read NFC band, then hold the band near the top of the phone when prompted.
  2. On Android, enable NFC in the phone’s settings if it’s off. When the Door reader shows it’s ready, hold the band near the phone’s NFC reader. Keep Door open while reading bands.
  3. If NFC is unavailable or the band cannot be read, use Scan or Guest list in Velvet Pro and complete the same entry checks.

On the organizer site

  1. Open Events, then Door, and choose the event to review checked-in guests, denied entries, capacity and recent checks.
  2. Use Find a guest to look up an attendee or order. Finding a ticket on the website does not admit the guest; complete the ticket, photo and ID checks in Velvet Pro.
  3. Choose Door hardware to review reader and Tap to Pay setup. Reader availability depends on the phone and connected hardware; use Velvet Pro for admission.

Follow the event and ticket entry-window notices. If the screen offers Admit anyway for a ticket window, that staff decision is recorded. If the event is unavailable, choose the correct event or contact Help.

At 18+ and 21+ events, a scanned guest’s verified age must meet the limit, or Velvet Pro won’t admit them.

An additional guest’s ID scan is the default. If an approved staff override is offered at an 18+ or 21+ event, staff must confirm I checked their ID by eye and that the guest meets the age limit. Overrides are recorded with the staff account.

Re-entry follows the event’s Allow re-entry setting.
