Delete your account
How to delete your Velvet account, and what’s removed and what’s kept.
In the Velvet app
- Tap the person icon at the bottom of the screen, then Settings, then Your account & data, then Delete account.
- Anything to sort out first is listed under Before deleting: for example an organization you own, or a payment or refund that’s still pending.
- Tick the box, then tap Delete account. You’re logged out, and you get a receipt with a reference to keep.
On the web
- Log in, open Account settings from the menu at the top, then Your account & data, then Delete account. On a phone, open the menu, then choose Settings.
- Anything to sort out first is listed under Before you delete your account.
- Tick the box, then choose Delete account. You’re logged out of this browser, and you get a receipt with a reference to keep.
- If you can’t log in, email us from the address on your Velvet account and ask us to delete it.
Before your account is set up
- If you haven’t finished setting up your account, choose Delete account at the bottom of the setup screen.
Your access stops as soon as you ask. Your membership, bands and upcoming tickets stop working, and pending ticket transfers are canceled.
Your profile, personal media and social data, such as follows, saved events and updates, are removed as cleanup is confirmed. A venue’s own door record of your ID follows the venue retention in the Privacy Policy: 21 days after your latest scan there, or while a flag stays active.
If you were verified as under 21, the separate under-21-until date stays until your 21st birthday, even after your account or verification data is deleted.
Purchase, payment, safety-case and limited audit records are kept where they’re needed, for example to resolve disputes, prevent abuse or meet legal and accounting obligations. Legal holds can delay removal. Backups held by the services we use, and records we’re required to keep, follow their own retention policies.
