Transfer a ticket to a friend
Send a ticket to a friend’s Velvet account, and what they do to accept it.
In the Velvet app
- Tap the ticket icon at the bottom of the screen, then tap the event.
- Choose Transfer tickets, pick the tickets to send, then choose Continue.
- Find your friend. Confirmed mutual friends are listed first. Search public profiles with at least 3 letters of their name or username. Friends-only profiles appear only for confirmed friends; an older approved-connection privacy setting keeps its existing permissions. You can also send an invitation to an exact username, verified email or phone without making their profile public.
- Choose Review transfer, then Confirm transfer.
On the web
- Log in and open My tickets.
- Open the ticket and choose Transfer ticket.
- Search for your friend, choose them, then choose Confirm transfer.
Your friend accepts
- In the Velvet app, your friend taps the ticket icon, then Tickets waiting for you, and opens your invitation. On the web, they open My tickets, then Transfers.
- They choose Accept ticket, or Decline invitation.
- They have 48 hours to accept, or until the event ends if that’s sooner. Until then, the ticket stays yours, and you can cancel the invitation.
Your friend needs a Velvet account.
Some ticket types can’t be transferred. If yours can’t, you’ll see a message when you try.
